Melissani Cave – Greece

Untitled-313-980x656
A hidden beauty on Cephalonia, a Greek island within the borders of Ionian Sea. The water in Melissani Cave is so clear that boats on the water look like they are hovering. Once upon a time, this cave was blessed for Pan, the God of the Wild in Greek mythology – furthermore, the name of the cave came from a water nymph who had a crush on and rejected by Pan. The nymph committed suicide because of her sadness. The central part of the cave used to be a roof that was open to the sky and collapsed hundreds of years ago. The view, yet, is perfect.
